Role and Responsibilities
As a Research Associate in our Chemistry Solutions department, your role will encompass a variety of critical tasks, including:
- Synthesis of Target Molecules/Compounds: You will set up and execute chemical reactions based on project requirements, adhering to client specifications and synthetic routes.
- Safety Protocols: Discuss and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) with team members. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Execution of Reactions: Plan and execute reactions using appropriate reagents and equipment while maintaining specified conditions (temperature, pressure) to ensure optimum usage and minimum waste. You will manage multiple reactions in parallel.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor reaction progress using analytical techniques and identify suitable workup and purification methods to produce intermediaries or final compounds of desired quality. Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Productivity Benchmarks: Meet productivity benchmarks related to the number of reactions, steps, compounds, and quality/purity of products, while adhering to project timelines.
- Safety and Quality Assurance: Follow established safety and quality systems in the labs to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain and utilize equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Educational Background: An M.Sc. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry, coupled with 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
