Job Summary and Qualifications:
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Centerpoint Medical Center equips you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program includes:
- Advanced clinical training in a specialty area
- Monthly educational sessions
- Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor
- Hands-on simulations to measure and evaluate skills

Responsibilities:
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting any changes in status
- Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by medical providers
- Document care administration in the patient medical record in a timely manner
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor for therapeutic response
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve proactively
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up measures
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment
- Additional certifications may be required during employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- No previous experience needed
- Some travel may be needed for training
